there are some things worth fighting for

I just finished watching "Meet John Doe" on turner classic movies channel, such a wonderful film, I had to talk about it. Gary Cooper and Barbra Stanwyck are sensational together. I wish there could be more movies made today that have the hope of the people as the message of the story. That if we all work together we can make this a better world. John Doe was a symbol of hope to the american people in this movie, that the power of the people will never diminish, no politician will ever take it away, for that is what this country was founded on..the freedom of the people. Another movie, similar to this one is " Mr. Smith goes to Washington", with Jimmy Stewart. It really captures what we can really accomplish living in this great place that we do, no matter what enemies we might face, the good always defeats the bad, and the people win in the end.

I realized when I meant "gibberish", i meant to say that it's funny...classic films are really like a whole different language. Today's movies are completely different then the ones back then. Unlike today's horror films, Alfred Hitchcock allows you to use your imagination...which can be a very powerful tool.

The other day I found out that my new friend and I shared the love of classic movies. lately

The past few nights I've been staying up past 3a.m. watching the old game show called "What's my line?" on YouTube. It was on CBS from 1950 to 1967. It's quit addicting. The object of the game is to guess the celebrity. There is a blind folded panel, sometimes the same and sometimes other celebrities would play. Each celebrity that came on was asked numerous questions from the panel, so they can try and figure out who they were. Elizabeth Taylor would disguise her voice very high pitched to trick the panel and Peter Lawford would act as a french man. Its so funny to me to see how different things were back then. Almost over 60 years ago now. Watching all the movie stars talk about there "new films" coming out, and advertising to the audience to go see them. I think that's why I enjoy watching old films and anything from that time, it tells us so much about the past and how much has really changed. Especially silent films, they are the very beginning of the film industry that has now expanded so big that it blows my mind everyday. I am striving to help keep classic movies alive forever, and talk about them with people who share the same love for them as I do.
